Lovely Lace for Lisa

In July of 2022, Lisa Boe (formerly Burroughs) paid us a visit with her upcoming March 23 wedding in mind. Having already visited a couple of bridal stores in New Zealand, she had a clear understanding of the gown shape and essential features she desired for her bespoke dress.

Lisa and her future husband planned to hold their wedding at home and were seeking a gown with a simple yet perfect fit, as well as a stunning fabric or lace to add that "wow" factor. It was then that one of Nemos' exquisite laces caught her eye. During supplier visits, we often end up purchasing a few fabrics that we simply cannot resist. These fabrics are then made available to our brides, allowing them to instantly fall in love with a unique fabric without having to sift through multiple options. As such, Lisa was able to acquire a piece of beaded lace from our archives, Delfino, an exquisite Art Nouveau-inspired lace that immediately captured her heart. The lace's shapely design perfectly accentuated Lisa's stunning figure, making it a perfect match.

Lisa had a specific vision in mind for her gown, which included a detachable train and a classic design that would allow her to comfortably celebrate and dance at her wedding reception. We were able to seamlessly accomplish all of these details to Lisa's satisfaction.

Working with Lisa was an absolute pleasure, and we are thrilled to have played a part in making her wedding day a truly special and unforgettable occasion.

Your Partner’s Name: Callum Boe

How and when did you meet your partner?

Callum and I met onsite in Jacks Point - he was building a house and I was managing for a client.

What is the story of when your partner proposed?

We were cruising in Fiordland on our boat with our 6-month-old daughter Sophie. Suddenly, Callum got down on one knee and proposed. But instead of a grand romantic gesture, his next words were, "Shall we get fishing?"

What are some of the things you love most about your partner?

One of the things that I love the most about Callum is his sense of humour. He is always keeping me laughing. We also share a passion for property development, the ocean, and seeking out new adventures together. What's even more special is that he loves me just the way I am.

How would you describe your wedding style in 3 words?

Country, Family Orientated, & Fun!

What do you look forward to the most on your wedding day?

Seeing all of our loved ones.

What was your inspiration when designing this bridal look?

When designing this bridal look, our inspiration was to create a relaxed, country-style feel that would be perfect for a wedding at home. We wanted to ensure that everything felt effortless and natural. As we began putting everything together, it all fell into place beautifully.
